How does Dickson and Dickson protect my credit card information?

Dickson and Dickson uses the latest technology to protect your credit card information and does not release it to any outside organisation. Here are a few examples of the measures we take to ensure your credit card security:

Secure transactions -- SSL Encryption Technology
Our internet commerce system automatically switches to secure mode (HTTPS) before you enter your Credit Card details, and your Credit Card Information is protected with SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) encryption technology. SSL is the current standard for Internet commerce. Dickson and Dickson is committed to our customers' security, and will continue to offer the highest levels of protection for your credit card transactions.

How does Dickson and Dickson protect my privacy?

Your Privacy
We will not rent or sell your name, address, email address, credit card information or personal information to any third party. However, we must cooperate fully should a situation arise where we are required by law or legal process to provide information about a customer.

Secure Transactions
Dickson and Dickson uses the latest encryption technology to protect your credit card information. You can place your orders using SSL encryption (the Internet standard for secure transactions).

PayPal
Transactions made through PayPal are subject to PayPal's own transaction and data security policies. These can be found here.

Changes to our Policy
Our Policy is intended to provide you with the safest and most secure shopping experience possible. Since offerings and technologies change, we reserve the right to change, modify, add or remove portions of our Privacy Policy at any time without prior notice. Please refer back here to keep up to date on any Privacy Policy changes.

Payment Options

What payment methods to do accept?
We currently accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express and PayPal.

In what currency are products charged?
Although our site can display prices in different currencies, all products are charged in Euro. When you get to the checkout, it will display the price in Euro, along with the approximate price in whichever currency you've chosen.

How are prices in other currencies calculated?
The prices shown are calculated on a daily basis and are based off exchange rates for that day. Please note that these are only an approximate price and you will still be charged in the fixed Euro price.

When will I be charged for my order?
Payment for order will be captured when we dispatch your items. Please note: Although we DO NOT charge the transaction until goods are actually dispatched, some banks reflect the value of the order against your available balance immediately. In this case we have not actually captured the payment; the bank have merely 'reserved' the funds for us. This process is perfectly normal and is referred to as 'pre-authorisation'.

Shipping Charges and Options

What shipping options are available?
Shipping options vary depending on the type and quantity of merchandise you choose to buy and your shipping address. We offer free worldwide delivery on all orders over €120, or discounted Fed-Ex delivery.

Shipping Options and Costs are displayed in the checkout stage before you buy.
We will continuously review our Shipping Options to bring you the best Service Possible.

Taxes, Customs Duties and VAT

Customs duties and taxes
Import duties and/or taxes may be imposed by your local government on shipments from outside your country. These charges are separate from Dickson and Dickson's charges and are beyond our control or ability to predict. These charges (if any) are made payable to your government.

You are responsible for paying any taxes, duties and/or customs fees charged by your government. Please check with your local post office for more information.

Customs sticker
Dickson and Dickson is required by law to declare an accurate monetary value on all non-Irish shipments.

We are unable to honour any requests to suppress the value of an order on the customs sticker.

VAT
A Value Added Tax (VAT) will be applied during the checkout process to orders shipped within the European Union. This is at the current Irish rate of 23%. The total VAT charges (if any) will be calculated for you before you place your order. No VAT will apply to orders outside of the European Union.

Please note: No money will be taken from your account until the items you ordered are ready to be shipped.

Returns Policy

How do I cancel an order I've placed?
If you wish to cancel your order, please contact us as early as possible, either by email or phone. You can find out details in the 'contact us' section of our site. If you have any questions about your jewellery before ordering, or need more information, please don't hesitate to contact us as we will be happy to help you.

How do I return an item?
We guarantee your satisfaction with all Dickson and Dickson merchandise and work within the protections offered by EU law. Any purchase made on our website is subject to EU law, regardless of the country the purchaser is from, or the country of destination of the jewellery ordered. You may return jewellery within 14 days of delivery for a full refund of the purchase price (minus shipping charges). Please note there are some exceptions to this policy:

Exceptions to our return policy:
As per EU law, unless your jewellery is found to be defective or not as described, our return policy excludes the return of any jewellery that has been made to order. This includes all rings and any other custom sized, engraved or equally customised products. Earrings are also exempt for hygiene reasons, even if they have not been worn.

Items showing signs of wear or those that have been engraved, altered or resized by a jeweller other than All Celtic Jewellery, cannot be accepted for return.

Please Note:
Be sure to send your return via an insured carrier.
If you use a carrier like Fed-Ex or UPS, you may attract a customs duty from the country of departure, so please clarify this with your carrier before you make your decision and goods are sent back. Dickson and Dickson is not responsible for lost returns.

What do I do if there are damaged or defective items?
If you receive a damaged or defective item, please notify us using our Contact Us page. In your message, be sure to include:

Your order number
The item(s) you wish to return
The reason for the return

Also, please specify whether you prefer a replacement or a refund. We will promptly send you a replacement or issue you a full refund after you have returned the damaged or defective product. If your product is damaged or defective, you will not be charged any additional shipping or handling fees for replacement shipments.

If returning an item please that the following steps:

Place a note on the outside of the package stating clearly:
"VAT No: IE9S67230I. Item returned to store of original purchase for exchange/repair”, as this will help prevent delays while going through customs.

I returned an item. When will I receive my credit?
Please allow 4 weeks for domestic (Irish) returns to be processed, or 4 to 6 weeks for all overseas returns. If you do not receive credit for your return within the time frames shown above, please trace your return shipment using the tracking number provided to you by the shipper when you shipped the package. If the tracking information indicates that Dickson and Dickson has received the package, please notify us using our Contact us page. Be sure to include your order number in your message.
Dickson and Dickson is not responsible for lost returns.

If you purchase from a country that is outside the European Union and you decide to return your order for a full refund, please be aware of fluctuations in currency. All our transactions are in Euro, and we will refund the full amount paid in Euro, minus any delivery charges. However, if the currency rate has changed since the initial purchase, and you receive back less that you paid in your local currency, we are not responsible for any difference in the amount after conversion to your local currency(either positive or negative.)

Troubleshooting

I get an error message when I try to connect to your secure server?
This only affects older Browsers and can be fixed by either:

1. Upgrading your Browser
2. or if you do not wish to upgrade your browser, you can update your security certificate (in about 2 minutes) by visiting http://www.thawte.com/certs/server/rollover.html
