The Tuatha Dé Danann, are usually translated as "people of the goddess Danu", and are also known by the earlier name Tuath Dé "(tribe of the gods".) They were a supernatural race in Irish mythology and thought to represent the main deities of pre-Christian Gaelic Ireland.
