Inspired by one of the most treasured masterpieces of the 8th century, the Celtic Warrior design of these earrings take inspiration from the famous Ardagh Chalice.

The Chalice was found in 1868 in Ardagh, County Limerick. The Chalice is in the National Museum of Ireland. It’s one of the most important pieces of Celtic art. The bowl and foot of the chalice are made of silver. The outer side of the bowl is decorated with applied gold, silver, glass, amber and enamel ornament. The underside of the foot contains a polished rock crystal at the centre. There are also great examples of fine filigree gold work on this piece.

The gold filigree on the Ardagh Chalice forms the basis of the intricate designs featured on these Celtic Warrior Earrings. They are handmade by our skilled goldsmiths in our Dublin workshop to the highest standards.
