Rings are jewellery that started originally in the east, around the Indus valley c300BC, and moved most westwards in the subsequent centuries. They could be used to show wealth, or act as symbols of office. Their continuous nature makes them ideal for wearing, and rich with symbolism, often signifying eternal love or continuous heritage.
